Nairobi THE Cabinet yesterday rejected an attempt by Higher Education minister William Ruto to persuade the Cabinet to provide more than a simple Yes or No choice in the forthcoming referendum on the proposed constitution.

Earlier, while appearing before the committee, the Education ministry Commissioner, Mr Francis Agula, said the ministry released 75 per cent of the money and 25 per cent would be disbursed after the relevant departments in the sector have proved a need to issue the balance.

Rape prompts University to expand shuttle service

Following the rape and robbery of a female undergraduate leaving campus, the University has expanded its door-to-door shuttle service for students living in off-campus housing. Although the decision to expand Campus2Home was made at the same time that the University chose to send out a campus-wide alert, that e-mail did not include a reference to the expanded service.
