AMA Delegates Adopt Principles for Accountable Care Organizations Posted: 15 Nov 2010 11:15 AM PST The AMA House of Delegates has adopted principles regarding the establishment and operation of accountable care organizations, or ACOs, at a time when recently enacted health care reform legislation mandates such shared savings programs with the goal of attaining higher-quality care at lower costs. The action comes nearly a year after the AAFP adopted a similar set of principles.
